Black eyed banditi
Good morning my feathered friend! Did you think I would not notice you? You blend so beautifully with the slate, silvery scene of winter that understandably, you would be somewhat easy to miss! But you have not missed my bird feeder! It was hung just outside my kitchen window. You are my black eyed banditi! Darting pass the nuthatch and chickadee, making a fine mess on my backyard deck, you are my primary seed-eater. Typically, you are low to the ground, yet you somehow made your way upward just under my roof eaves. With spring season just around the corner, I wonder what "firsts" I will discover at my bird feeder? Will a sighting of a blue jay or red-bellied woodpecker be among the first birds that will visit my bird feeder this spring? I wonder...
